Certificate in nursing or Midwifery

To enroll in a Certificate course in Nursing or Midwifery at Maracha, applicants must be at least 18 years old and certified as both physically and mentally fit to handle clinical demands. Academically, the full-time, 2.5-year program requires a background in core sciences, specifically demanding explicit Passes (under the old curriculum) or a minimum of a Grade D (under the new curriculum) in five key subjects: Mathematics, English, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. Application forms must be obtained directly from the Academic Registrar’s Office at the campus in Maracha.

Diploma in nursing or Midwifery

To pursue a Diploma Extension (Upgrading) course at Maracha, an applicant must already be a practicing healthcare professional holding a valid Certificate in Nursing or Midwifery. Academically and professionally, it requires official registration with a professional body (like the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council) alongside a minimum of two (2) years of active clinical working experience earned after that registration date. Additionally, applicants must meet the general institutional standards of being at least 18 years old and physically and mentally fit for the 1.5-year full-time or weekend program
